Meet Maven Commerce: the Agent that sells

Maven Commerce gives your existing Maven Agent the skills to sell, whether that's a product, a subscription, or a service, with guardrails scoped to what it can sell and to whom.

Every company with an AI support agent has, at some point, had this conversation internally: "Could the agent also sell something here?" And nearly every company answers it the same way: by standing up a second system. A separate sales assistant that has to be trained on its own data, managed by its own team, maintained on its own release cycle, sometimes bought from an entirely different vendor than the one running support. The support agent stays in its lane. The sales agent stays in its.

That split makes no sense to the customer on the other end of the conversation, who doesn't experience "support" and "sales" as separate systems, just as one conversation with a company they're already talking to. Sometimes that conversation starts because something broke. Sometimes it starts because they already know exactly what they want to buy. Either way, they're not expecting a handoff.

We've been running a different motion inside one of our largest global deployments: what if the agent didn't need a handoff at all? What if the same agent that resolves a support issue is also the one positioned, better than any separate sales tool could be, to notice what the customer actually needs next, and the same agent that answers the phone can just sell, the moment the customer asks, whatever it's authorized to sell?

Here's what that looks like in a live call:

Customer: Hey, I'm calling because my laptop's charger stopped working. Still under warranty I think?

Agent: You're covered. I can get a replacement shipped free of charge, arriving Thursday. I see this is actually the second charger replacement on this account this year; looks like you might be carrying it back and forth between home and office a lot.

Customer: Yeah, honestly it lives in my bag most days.

Agent: That's usually what wears the cable out early. A lot of people in that situation just keep a second charger at their other location so nothing's getting dragged around daily. I can add one to this order for $24, ships with the replacement.

Customer: Oh that's smart, yeah let's do that.

Agent: Done, both will arrive Thursday.

The agent that fixed the charger problem is the same one that noticed the pattern and made the offer, because it actually understood the account, not because it was scripted to pitch something. That's Maven Commerce.

Introducing Maven Commerce

Maven Commerce gives your existing Maven Agent the skills to sell, whether that's a product, a subscription, or a service, with a new set of guardrails scoped specifically to what it can sell and to whom. It extends your support agent rather than replacing it, and it works whether the sales moment surfaces mid-support, like the charger call above, or the customer opens the conversation already ready to buy:

Customer: Hi, I need a new wireless mouse — mine just died and I've got a ton of work to get done this week.

Agent: I can get that ordered right now. The wireless mouse that pairs with your laptop model is $34, and I can ship it overnight so it's there as quickly as possible.

Customer: Yes, overnight please.

Agent: Done, overnight shipping added. You'll have tracking in a few minutes.

The agent checked live availability, priced the item correctly, and closed the order in the same conversation the customer opened it in. Customers who reach out with purchase intent get a real transaction, not a transfer, and the same logic holds whether what's being sold ships in a box, unlocks with a flag in a billing system, or shows up as an add-on to an existing plan.

How one agent gets away with doing many jobs

Maven Commerce works because several parts of the Maven platform take on the same problem at once.

Multi-Modal: The same reasoning layer runs the call, the follow-up SMS, and the order confirmation email: one agent, not three handoffs between three tools.

Graph of Record™: Inventory, entitlements, subscription status, warranty status, and account history stay in your systems of record. The agent references them live instead of working off a stale copy, so every order or upsell, physical or digital, is always priced and available correctly.

Agentic Determinism: The Charter behind Maven Commerce defines exactly what the agent can offer, at what price, to whom. It can take an order for a $34 mouse, recommend a $24 charger, or upgrade a subscription tier. It can't freelance a discount or invent a bundle. The boundary is the point.

Underneath all four sits Agent Observability: every order or recommendation the agent makes is traceable back to the signal that triggered it (a customer asking to buy, a warranty flag, a usage pattern, an inventory or entitlement check), so your team can see exactly why it offered what it offered, and tune the Agent from there.

Launch in weeks, without adding new systems

Because Maven Commerce extends an agent that's already live, there's no new infrastructure to stand up, just a new Charter to scope, write, and test on top of what's already trusted. Inside our largest deployment, scoping the Agent and its guardrails, building it into the existing voice, chat, and messaging surfaces, and testing it against real conversations all happened within five weeks.

This is just the beginning

We built Maven to hold a customer relationship, not just a support ticket. Maven Commerce is our architecture doing exactly what it was designed to do. Next, we're building proactive outbound motions that can reach at-risk accounts before they churn, always-on account support, and a live on-call agent that sits in on calls with your team. Support, care, and sales were never supposed to be three different Agents, just three moments in the same relationship.

Your agent already knows how to talk to your customers. Now it can sell to them, too.
